We believe our mares are the cornerstone of our breeding program (not taking anything away from Schemer mind you). We have taken the old saying of "QUALITY over QUANTITY" to heart and have really looked at what each mare can "bring to the table" so to speak. Our broodmares have no holes in their pedigree's, both are daughters and granddaughters of champions or champion producers. They both have strong, straight legs and great conformations. We only have two broodmares now which allows us time to get hands on all of our horses daily (broodmares need and deserve daily attention too!) We maintain our mares on high quality feed, high quality hay and supplements allowing them every opportunity to produce healthy foals....you have to put quality in to get quality out! We have made an ethical choice only to breed HYPP N/N horses so there are no worries about HYPP when you are buying a foal from us out of one of our mares that may carry Impressive in their pedigree. Enough said, enjoy the pics and information on our mares!

This gentle gal is a 15.2hh solid bay (I am seeing some white hairs) 2007 model Appaloosa "Princess". She has a ROYAL pedigree packed with the most well known horses in the Appaloosa and QH breed. She is an own daughter of the fabulous Distinctive Affair (recently deceased) and she is out of Skips Sweet Pea (Producer of four World Champions) who has produced some fabulous show horses in both the Appaloosa and Paint World. Amy is a full sister to Ima Cool Affair: 2010 Reserve Grand Champion Stallion and multiple National and World Champion. She is bringing her pedigree, her conformation, and her wonderful demeanor to the "Big Bottom" table. We believe "Amy" will produce first class babies (she has a stud colt by Coolest Cajun that is a KNOCK OUT...look for him at shows this Fall!!!), and we cannot thank Mr Alfred Quatrevingt of Houma, Louisiana enough for the opportunity to add this wonderful mare to our broodmare band. We will leave Amy open as it is late in the year, and will be trying for an early January 2013 foal. You can see her pedigree at: www.allbreedpedigree.com/CR+Skippin+Affair

ANZ Tesign "Annie Bo Nannie"
Anz Tesign (Annie) is a 15.2hh Quarter Horse mare that has one of those pedigrees that just makes you shake your head back and forth and smile...the sire lines speak for themselves, and when you start looking into the maternal lines you realize the mares just weren't just "champion or point producers", they were champions and point earners THEMSELVES!!! Annie's story is very similar to many well bred horses....she was a Futurity Champion as a weanling (see picture below), was then sold to Louisiana as a yearling, and unfortunately until 2008 was left in a stall (she was WELL fed etc, but her hooves were badly misshapen from walking circles in her stall, and she hardly ever got any "outside time"). My best friend Rebecca Johnson of Baton Rouge "rescued" Annie and an Appaloosa stallion from the ranch when the owner became terminally ill. Rebecca brought Annie here in 2009 to be bred to Schemer and the result was a really great filly who has the natural muscling of her dam and the gliding movements of her sire. Rebecca has discovered that she is not "breeder" material since it is so hard to sell the resulting foals once you bond to them. She has kindly offered Annie to us to add to our broodmare band, and we GLADLY accepted. Annie was rebred to Schemer for a late February 2011 foal and gave us a BEAUTIFUL filly!!! You can see her Champion filled pedigree at http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/anz+tesign
